This joyous room design was created in collaboration with colour guru Sophie Robinson for Channel 5’s Dream Home Makeovers and was achieved for just £500 in one weekend! Here we see how the extraordinary power of paint can completely reimagine a space.
The colour block mural is designed to wrap shapes of lilac, emerald and navy over the walls and ceiling, sliding over architectural details and even flowing onto soft furnishings, furniture and the radiator. Even the lighting is worked into the design.
The bold graphic lines are softened with plenty of organic shapes, abstract painterly artwork and rustic textures- Timber tones, wicker, rattan and pottery ground the bright energetic colours.
With colour density a priority, the bright hues are balanced with touches of black and white to help elevate the scheme to a more sophisticated level.
