This beautiful entrance hallway was a joy to design and demonstrates that small changes can have a big impact. The adjoining livingroom design had been completed a year previously so the aim was to pull the colour pallet of deep greys and mustard yellow through to the hallway to connect the spaces.
Pops of yellow appear on a ‘hello beautiful’ neon wall light, a burst of wild mimosa, a playful zebra rug and importantly on the trim of the smoky grey stair runner which flows to the top of the spine of the home.
The lighting layout and fixtures, such as the single smoked glass pendant and beautiful brass molecular horizontal chandelier, help focus light on specific spots and add to the moody atmosphere. I particularly love the waterfall effect pendants hanging within the stairwell which cast a delicate warm light in the heart of the home.
The lower half of the wall painted in a matt dark grey trimmed with black harks back to the lounge where the chimney breasts and room divider were painted in the same colours, thus continuing the connection.
I particularly love small details such as the reflection of the large French antique lounge mirror and glass pendants in the hallway mirror adding depth and interest, while the delicate slim bespoke walnut console table maintains easy movement in a narrow space. Vital in a home where buggies are in constant use!
